Birmingham residents encouraged to attend Veolia’s recycling drop-in sessions this September.
Do you know what items can be recycled in Birmingham? Could you recycle just one more thing at
home? Have you ever wondered what happens to your recycling once it leaves your kerbside or after
visiting your local Household Recycling Centre (HRC)?
Veolia, in partnership with Birmingham City Council, are hosting a series of recycling drop-in sessions during
September, to help residents to recycle more of the right things, in the right way.
Find out how you can recycle more at home and at Birmingham’s Household Recycling Centres by joining us
at Veolia, James Road, Tyseley, Birmingham B11 2BA on one of the dates below:
Saturday 15th September
Monday 17th September
Saturday 22nd September
Monday 24th September
All sessions run from 10am - 2pm.
At the sessions, you will have the chance to find out which items in your everyday waste can be recycled and
turned into something new, which unusual items from around your home can be recycled at Birmingham’s
five Household Recycling Centres, and what happens to your recycling when it arrives to be sorted at our
Materials Recovery Facility in Four Ashes, Cannock.
You can also have your questions about recycling answered by the experts and learn about how recycling
one more thing can impact the environment. You might be surprised by the journey of waste!
Toby Terlet, General Manager for Veolia in Birmingham said, “We want to help Birmingham residents recycle
more of the right things, in the right way. I encourage anyone interested in learning about recycling at home
or at their Household Recycling Centre to come along to one of the sessions and find out more.”
